Advanced Certificate in Glaucoma
The Advanced Certificate in Glaucoma (ACO-ACG) offers optometrists training in current best practice for the pathophysiology, diagnosis and co-management of glaucoma.
Graduates completing this course will have enhanced knowledge of glaucoma and improved ability to participate in collaborative care with ophthalmologists. This six month course offers a flexible remote learning structure ideal for rural or remote optometrists and those balancing work and other commitments.
Our courses are open to optometry graduates from Australia, New Zealand and internationally.

It is recommended that all candidates have a minimum of six months general practice experience prior to commencing the course.
Please note: Completion of this course does not provide a pathway to an Australian visa or registration to practise in Australia. For information on practising in Australia or New Zealand, please refer to the Optometry Board of Australia (OBA).

Each ACO Certificate includes a clinical placement module that provides hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced practitioners. This practical component allows you to apply your learning in real-world settings while developing valuable professional connections within the optometry community.
Please note: Students are responsible for organising their own placement in a practice local to them.
