Topics reflect common and clinically important presentations encountered in daily optometrist practice, including:
- Anterior eye infections
- Ocular surface disorders including contemporary dry eye management aligned with DEWS III principles
- Corneal foreign body management and practical removal techniques
- Acute anterior uveitis
- Cataract surgery complications
- Glaucoma and ocular hypertension
- Oral therapeutics in optometric practice
- Geographic atrophy including latest recommendations for clinical management and imaging considerations

It is recommended that all candidates have a minimum of six months general practice experience prior to commencing the course.
