Surgical Considerations in Corneal Disease
Seminar Series 5Date: Tuesday 12 August
Time: 7.30 – 8.30pm
Where: Online via Zoom
CPD: TBC
A dose of surgical and clinical finesse is essential to optimise outcomes for patients with pre-existing corneal disease undergoing either corneal procedures, such as grafting, or unrelated surgeries, such as cataract extraction. Educating patients on both the functional and visual outcomes, along with the expected timeframes, requires the expertise of a corneal surgeon and the collaborative care of their optometrist. In this presentation, fellowship-trained corneal specialist and surgeon Dr Colby Hart will dissect the layers of technique in corneal surgery, equipping optometrists with the knowledge to support patient education and provide follow-up care for those undergoing corneal and other ophthalmic surgeries.
