Optometry practices routinely encounter patients with acute corneal complaints such as sharp pain, photophobia, tearing and visual disturbance. This session transforms corneal "first aid" into a clear, step-by-step framework that helps practitioners classify injuries, recognise vision-threatening pathology, and initiate appropriate management. It provides practical guidance on evidence-based therapies for abrasions, foreign bodies, chemical injuries and keratitis, and outlines when and how to refer to ensure timely intervention and protect long-term visual outcomes.
